High fructose corn syrup is made in the lab. They take normal glucose and convert it to fructose making it a synthetic product. Your body looks at it as a drug frankly.
When you eat normal natural foods it stimulates your pancreas to make insulin to push the sugar into the cells. High fructose corn syrup is absorbed and sent straight to the liver where it is treated like a chemical and turned to fat.
Here is my beef! I love fruit pie. I mean it would be one of my daily foods if I didn’t know better. My grandmother made the finest pies in the world and I have never recovered since. But I cannot purchase pie at Kroger, Walmart or Marsh because all of them are made with high fructose corn syrup. I have to go to the frozen section to buy Marie Callender’s or Mrs. Smith’s. Why? They still use regular sugar which is better for me in small amounts then high fructose corn syrup. This also goes for cakes, cookies and doughnuts.
Please read the labels and adjust your purchasing habits!
